"I felt the team needed new bench leadership to get the franchise back to another championship." Cordingley spent four years as Rock head coach and guided the team to NLL championship game appearances his first two seasons behind the bench, winning in 2011. The Rock lost in the second round last year and were upset in the first round this year after finishing in top spot in the regular-season standings. Lovell, who has spent 30 years as a lacrosse coach, served as Cordingleys assistant the past four seasons.
