BERLIN, Sept. 30 (Xinhua) -- Leipzig secured their third win of the season after edging Augsburg 2-1 thanks to goals from Emil Forsberg and Yussuf Poulsen at the opener of the sixth round in Bundesliga on Friday.
The Bundesliga newcomers did not only reap their third victory but they also remained unbeaten at their sixth game in row to set a new record for a newly promoted team.
Leipzig ensured a bright start into the game as Emil Forsberg capitalized on a rebound to break the deadlock from inside the box with just eleven minutes into the game.
However, it was a short-lived joy for the hosts as Augsburg bounced back only three minutes later when Dong-Won Ji curled the ball from the edge of the box into the top left corner to restore parity.
Despite Augsburg's equalizer, Leipzig controlled the reins and continued to produce goal-scoring opportunities but neither Timo Werner nor Forsberg were able to grab the lead before the break.
After the restart, Leipzig continued to control the proceedings on the pitch but Augsburg goalkeeper Marwin Hitz was on guard to deny Marcel Sabitzer twice. His teammate Yussuf Poulsen cut a better figure in front of Augsburg's goal area as the Denmark international hammered home the 2-1 lead in the 52nd minute.
Leipzig should have made the game safe ahead of time but Timo Werner pulled the ball over the target following a solo run in the 61st minute. Augsburg lacked in penetration in the second half and were unable to avoid the third loss of the season.
With the result, Leipzig moved on the third place of the Bundesliga standings whereas Augsburg stay on the 11th place for the moment.
The following fixtures are scheduled for Saturday: front-runners and title holders Bayern Munich host Cologne, Hertha Berlin see struggling Hamburg, Ingolstadt face Hoffenheim, Darmstadt encounter Werder Bremen, newly promoted Freiburg clash with Eintracht Frankfurt and Bayer Leverkusen take on runner-up Borussia Dortmund.
LUSAKA, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) -- Health authorities in Zambia on Monday started a mass vaccination of children under the age of 15 against measles.
The vaccination exercise will run up to Saturday, September 24, Ministry of Health Permanent Secretary Peter Mwaba said in a statement.
"The Ministry of Health conducts a catch-up immunization campaign every three years, targeting children less than 15 years of age in order to avert measles outbreaks," he said.
He said the introduction of the vaccine was in line with the country and global burden of congenital rubella syndrome, adding that the health of both children and mothers was critical to any nation.
The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends that countries take the opportunity offered by accelerated measles control and elimination activities to introduce rubella-containing vaccine, he added.
