TORONTO -- Epy Guerrero, a longtime Toronto Blue Jays scout who recruited several top players during the teams glory days, has died. Reports indicated Guerrero died in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic on Thursday at age 71. A team spokesman confirmed the news via email but did not provide additional details. "Our deepest sympathy goes out to the family of longtime Blue Jays employee Epy Guerrero," the Blue Jays said on their official Twitter feed. Guerrero, who worked for Toronto from 1978-1995, is credited with bringing players such as Carlos Delgado, Tony Fernandez and George Bell to the team. "Just heard the sad news that my super scout Epy Guerrero died today. Thanks for giving me the opportunity. Rest in peace," Delgado said on Twitter.
