SEATTLE -- Two pitching rotations that have been in constant rotation will turn to fill-in starters again when the Seattle Mariners and Detroit Tigers return to action Tuesday night at Safeco Field.Tigers starter Daniel Norris (1-0) returns to the rotation after a month in Triple-A, having been summoned from Norfolk when Jordan Zimmermann went on the disabled list with recurring neck problems. Norris, a left-hander, is one of eight starters Detroit has used this season.Seattle has already gone through 11 starters, with the wheel landing on lefty Wade LeBlanc on Tuesday. LeBlanc (1-0) has been making spot starts since being acquired from the Toronto Blue Jays minor league system in June. He finally has a legitimate shot to stay in the rotation, and to pitch every five days, as the Mariners made a bold move Monday by sending 23-year-old phenom Taijuan Walker back to Triple-A.His last 13 starts, hes had like three quality starts, manager Scott Servais said before Mondays game.
